What A Difference A Fortnight Makes!
Wow, two weeks ago I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and woke up today to snow on the ground with more falling. What’s the old saying about April showers?! Just checked the weather report and it looks like the cold and wet stays through the weekend, but we’ll be back to the 70s on Monday through the following week. That means beautiful weather for opening day on the Upper Sac - and of course the traditional pancake breakfast put on by the Dunsmuir Fire Department. With a reported 40% of normal snow-pack in the local mountains, the river is running really low right now - perfect for opening weekend, but I don’t know what that portends for the hot summer months - could just be the summer we don’t fish much and instead lay around in float tubes all day. Not ideal maybe, but I could think of worse ways to spend a hot day…
